Monthly Recap: August 2018

August!

August was a nice reading month for me! Which still surprises me to say because I was so used to being in a reading slump and barely reading. My eyes have gotten better, but I'm still going through a battery of tests to try and figure out what's going on. At least the medication I'm on is working, for the most part. This month was finally the release of Blackout By Dannika Dark. I've been fangirling over the series since last year and this book was no exception! It was amazing and I need the next book as soon as humanly possible :)

Books I Read & Listened To In August

  • Stone Cold Touch (Dark Elements #2) By Jennifer Armentrout - This story only happened because everyone lied to someone about some important things at one point in time. I wish it went deeper than that because the world the author created could have made for a really good story. (My review coming soon!)
  • Adultolescence By Gabbie Hanna - This is the first poetry book I've ever picked up by choice and it's about what I expected it to be. This book doesn't take itself seriously in most of the poems. ★★★ (My Review)
  • Want You By Jen Frederick - This was a nice story, but the cover and synopsis made me so apprehensive to pick this up. The cover, in particular, doesn't represent this novel in the slightest and the synopsis made me feel icky about what the relationship was going to be like. (My review coming soon!)
  • The Blackstone Bear By Alicia Montgomery - This was a nice quick read with likable characters. The overall narration was great and moved the story at a nice even pace. This author has potential and I'm curious to see how she evolves through the years in her books. (My review coming soon!)
  • Blackout (Crossbreed #5 ) By Dannika Dark I adored how well interlaced the storylines are. There are quite a few small tidbits that were presented in past books that are just now growing into complex plot points. I can't wait to see where this goes! (My Review)
  • Witchblade (2017) #7The drawing style is great and the overall pace of the story is fast (but will feel slow due to me reading these as they release every few weeks or so because I can't help myself). I'm intrigued with the current storyline and plan to continue on in this graphic novel/comic series. (My Review)

  1. So sorry to hear you are having problems with your eyes. I paid $1000 for a procedure earlier this year to help with my oil glands, and I guess it's a little better, but I was hoping to be pain free. I hope they figure out what is wrong and that there is a remedy for it.

    1. When your body start to go awry it's the worst. At this point, I would be happy just knowing what's causing the problem and taking medication for the foreseeable future to help alleviate it. You never know the monetary worth for a functioning body part until something bad happens to it. I hope your eyes get better as well :)
