The questions to this tag was originally created/featured on Buzzfeed, but I saw this in question form on Lauren's Boook Shelf. Let's see how hard a bookish would you rather can get!
1. Would you rather have a friend who loses
your books, or one who dog-ears them?
I'd rather have a friend who dog-ears my books, but after the first book they borrow comes back dog-eared they'd never see another one of my books again :)
2. Would you rather secretly love a book everyone else
hates, or secretly hate a book everyone else loves?
Either is fine and has happened more than I'd care to admit in the last year alone. As long as someone isn't disrespectful to me about my opinion everything is okay. That also works the other way around as well. At the end of the day, books are subjective and not everything is for everyone.
3. Would you rather be stuck on a very long
plane or train ride without a book?
I can't read in moving vehicles. Motion sickness is a real factor that I'd rather not have that happen to me ever again. I usually listen to music or audio books when I'm stuck somewhere for a significant amount of time. That would be a hard question to answer ;)
4. Would you rather have dinner with your
favorite author or your favorite character?
Hands down dinner with the author. The character is a figment of the authors' imagination, I could pick his/her brain way more thoroughly than the character's brain.
5. Would you rather date a character you
have a crush on or your crush from real life?
I can't say I've crushed on anyone in real life for quite a while. Boy, do I sound old! So my only option is to date a character and I have quite a few in mind ;)
6. Would you rather have your favorite book turned into a
movie, or your favorite movie turned into a book?
I've learned to shy away from movie adaptations of books. So many amazing books have had less than stellar movies that I'd rather have a movie turned into a book.
7. Would you rather read a book with an annoying cliffhanger,
or one where your favorite character is killed off?
Either option is going to make it so I despise the book. Bring on the cliffhanger so the book, at least, has a fighting chance.
8. Would you rather lose the ability to read any new
books, or the ability to reread books you've already read?
As much as I like rereading, getting immersed in new adventures sounds so much better in the long run!
9. Would you rather live in a library or a bookstore?
I imagine libraries have a much bigger selection at any given point when compared to a bookstore that has to sell the books to make a profit. I choose libraries!
10. Would you rather lose your place or get a
paper cut every time you read a book?
Can I get around this if I only read on an iPad? If I had to choose, I'd "lose" my place, but memorize the page number I was on ;)
11. Would you rather have to always read in the
dark, or always read books with tiny text?
I would rather always read in the dark. Even if it means carrying around a cloak so I can "be in the dark" when I have a few spare minutes to read throughout the day. Tiny text gives me a headache and puts too much strain on my already sensitive eyes.
12. Would you rather read by a fireplace, or on the beach?
Fireplace always! I live in Brazil, so having a fireplace while living in a place where it's summer for 10 out of the 12 months in the year is very unreasonable, but I've always wanted one. I blame movies for that.
What was the hardest question in your opinion?
Let's discuss in the comments below!
Fun tag! And I agree about #8- I love rereading a favorite book but give me all the NEW books ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather read by a fireplace too, especially in th winter here- not so much in the summer. :)
Thanks! Getting and reading new books is such a good feeling! There would no reason for fireplaces in the summer, but they're just so pretty looking I can't help myself :)
