This Week's Topic:
Five Of My Favorite Book Quotes
I'm not one to gather quotes from books in a particular place, but that's exactly what I've been doing for a few months now and I'm happy with what I have to show for it. Though I have favorite quotes from most books that I read. I usually include 3 quotes after each book review. If you're interested check out the My Reviews tab and look for a few!
* Beware this post got philosophical and reminiscent of a quarter-life crisis.

"You're always a main character, remember? Ignore anyone, and any story, that doesn't make you feel like one." - Broody YA Hero (Book: Brooding YA Hero - Becoming A Main Character)
This quote is for one of those days where your feeling down and everything seems to go array. It's good to feel that you matter every once in a while.

"Sometimes the universe makes choices for us because it sees the potential we still have." - Callie Anderson (Book: Broken Dreams)
This will forever be a battle for me. I sometimes feel like I'm the only one in charge of my life, but then I catch myself thinking "What if I had to go through that for a purpose?". It's a never-ending cycle, but it's a beautiful quote nonetheless.

"Sometimes, once-in-a-lifetime means precisely that. Sometimes, you lose something great. Sometimes you don't get a second chance. Sometimes, you can't get it back." - Annie Arcane (Book: Hart Broken)
This represents a big fear of mine. I don't relate it to someone in particular. I think of it as a place or state of mind, if you will. All because I don't want it to have been a once-in-a-lifetime event.

"Because time doesn't heal all wounds. It merely puts some distance between you and the traumatic experience. It gives you perspective. That's all time does." - Annie Arcane (Book: Hart Broken)
I've heard throughout my life that "Time heals everything." I've never agreed with that. I've been through some things and they hurt just as much today as they did 5 years ago or a decade ago. Time in no way heals what you went through.

"Should have, could have, would have. They are dangerous thoughts. We are never going to know what might have been." - Kylie Hillman (Book: Seizing Control)
I hate it when the cycle of 'should have, could have, would have' starts. It ruins your present and makes the past taste just as bitter. The present is what needs to be focused on.
This got way more personal than I thought it'd be.

Aww that first one is so inspirational and good feeling! Sometimes it's nice to think that there's a purpose for some of the things that happen in our lives. I totally understand that feeling. And yeah, I sometimes start thinking about those should/could/would haves and have to remind myself to stop because it doesn't actually do any good. You chose some great, insightful quotes!
ReplyDeleteMost of these are never ending battles and it's good to hear/read something that can cheer you up even if it's just for a few minutes. Everybody goes through tough times, what matters is what you do after they've passed :)
DeleteIt's amazing how inspiration Broody can be when taken out of context. Love it! Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and these awesome quotes. I need to check out Hart Broken. If the book is that quotable, it must be good.
ReplyDeleteBroody has many many amazing quotes when taken out of context! Hart Broken is a nice story, but it has a few very amazing quotes to it. If I were you I'd read a few reviews on them before you pick them up. It's sad to say but the books in that series get more and more rushed (storywise) after every book :)
