Top Ten Tuesday: New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2018

Hiya My Little Predators!!

New-To-Me Authors
I Read In 2018

Caitlin Kittredge
I Read: Witchblade 2017
(Graphic Novels)

Caitlin started writing novels at age 13. Her first was a Star Wars tie-in. Fortunately, she branched out from there and after a few years trying to be a screenwriter, a comic book writer and the author of copious amounts of fanfiction, she tried to write a novel again. Her epic dark fantasy (thankfully) never saw the light of day but while she was struggling with elves and sorcerers she got the idea of writing a story about a werewolf who fought crime.

Two years and many, many drafts later, she pitched Night Life to a bevy of agents and one of them, Rachel Vater, sold the series to St. Martin’s.

Caitlin collects comic books, print books, vintage clothes, and bad habits. She loves tea, loud music, the color black (especially mixed with the color pink) and ghost stories. She can drive a stick shift, play the violin and knows more English curses than American ones.

Caitlin lives in Olympia, WA with two pushy cats.

Scott Peterson
(Graphic Novels)

Scott Peterson got his start in comics as an editor on the Batman line of comics, working with the legendary Dennis O’Neil. He edited DC’s flagship title, Detective Comics, and launched the first of the the Adventures sub-genre of comics, The Batman Adventures. He later went on to edit for WildStorm, where he oversaw such titles as WildCats, Midnighter, A God Somewhere and North 40, as well as Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes. As a writer, he has been published by Disney, Scholastic, Golden Books, HarperCollins, and DC Comics, including a four-year run as the regular writer of The Gotham Adventures. He is currently writing the miniseries Batman: Kings of Fear with art legendary artist Kelley Jones. An original graphic novel for First Second Books will be published in 2019.

Pam Godwin
I Read: Knotted

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Pam Godwin, lives in the Midwest with her husband, their two children, and a foulmouthed parrot. When she ran away, she traveled fourteen countries across five continents, attended three universities, and married the vocalist of her favorite rock band.

Java, tobacco, and dark romance novels are her favorite indulgences, and might be considered more unhealthy than her aversion to sleeping, eating meat, and dolls with blinking eyes.

Nalini Singh

I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.

I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).

So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.

Alyssa Brandon
I Read: Bound To You

I'm a Wattpad author, book lover, university student and dog owner. My big passion is urban fantasy but I enjoy a good romance or thriller just as much. My love for writing and story-telling came to me early and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t thinking up stories.

As well as winning the Watty Award 2013 (Werewolf)I was named one of Wattpad’s most followed people and The Hard Mate [Original Version] one of Wattpad's most-read Paranormal stories 2013.

What new-to-you authors did you come across in 2018?

    1. Oh that's a hard question! I'd have to say the world the author created. Even though I started it in the middle of a series it was amazing! I think I would have gotten even more out of it if I had read the series from the first book like a normal person would :)

    1. The world building she does is amazing but maybe don't do like me and start a series in the middle! It was still good but it could have been so much more if I had started from the beginning :)

    1. Bound To You was great but the ending was wonky. I'm still hoping a sequel gets announced some time soon! So unless you don't mind very open endings I'd say hold off on reading it :)
