2017 End Of The Year Book Survey

Hiya My Little Predators!

Here we are once again: End Of The Year Book Survey!

This is quickly becoming my favorite type of post. It's exciting to reflect on all the books I read in the year. Things were much better when you consider the circumstances of last year for me. I need to accept that life is far from perfect and that things will, for the most part, take its damn time to actually happen. That's a life lesson everyone should take with them...

That got very depressing very quickly. Let's move onto a happier subject:

Happy New Year!
& Here's to many more!

Hope you guys enjoy!!

Hosted By Jamie over at Perpetual Page Turner

Number Of Books You Read: 64 (7 more than last year!)
Number of Re-Reads: 6
Number Of DNF's: 20+ books unfortunately
Genre You Read The Most From: Paranormal Romance & Contemporary Romance were pretty even this year

1. Best Book You Read In 2017?

Crossbreed Series By Dannika Dark (My Review)

2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?

There were a few in this category this year, but the worst let down was Played By Jen Frederick (Goodreads). I was expecting so much and the book painted this character in a completely different light than what the first book lead me to believe.

3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?

Surprising In A Good Way: Red Winter (Red Winter Trilogy #1) By Annette Marie (My Review)

4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?

I don't really get to "push" books on my friends considering I read books in english on release day with no translation to portuguese in the near future. (Still true from last year...)

5. Best series you started in 2017? Best Sequel of 2017? Best Series Ender of 2017?

Best Series I Started in 2017: Crossbreed Series By Dannika Dark (My Review)
Best Sequel of 2017: Chaos Unleashed By Pippa DaCosta (My Review)
Best Series Ender of 2017: Immortal Fire By Annette Marie (My Review)

6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2017?

M. C. Jackson would be my favorite this year. Even though she only has one book out as of this year, I enjoyed the writing and narrating style in her book Mistaken Identity. I would love to read more novels by her.

7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?

That's What Friends Aren't For By Jim Benton. I believe this book is classified as Middle Grade, which is a genre I will forever hesitate to pick up now that I'm 'older'. This only passed my so-called 'test' because it was a throwback to my childhood.

8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?

I couldn't pick just one book this year!

Crossbreed Series By Dannika Dark (My Review)

Does it feel like I'm shoving this series down your throat because that's totally my intention :)

9. Book You Read In 2017 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?

-I've been more open to re-reading books in the last few years, but I don't think there's a book that I read this year that would be granted that 'privilege' so soon after I've read it. They'll have to wait a year or two at the least.

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2017?

Red Winter By Annette Marie (My Review)

Let's take a moment to bask in it's beauty:

11. Most memorable character of 2017?

Raven Black from the Crossbreed Series By Dannika Dark (My Review), mostly because the series is still ongoing. I'm doing my best to not forget important details!

12. Most beautifully written book read in 2017?

Red Winter By Annette Marie (My Review) hands down this year!

13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2017?

I didn't pick up any life-changing books this year, BUT I did find one last year: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck By Mark Manson (My Review)

14. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2017 to finally read?

Fire Touched (Mercy Thompson #9) By Patricia Briggs (Goodreads - Review coming soon!)

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2017?

This is Mission IMPOSSIBLE to me. Every book I review I mention my favorite quotes from the book at the end of the review. If I tell you I have A LOT of favorite quotes it's putting it mildly.... (Still true from last year...)

16. Shortest & Longest Book You Read In 2017?

Shortest: Hart Of Hers By Annie Arcane (82 pages - My Review)
Longest: Angelbound By  Christina Bauer (Audio Book | 14 hours 48 minutes - My Review)
17. Book That Shocked You The Most

Into The Fire By Jeaniene Frost shocked me in a bad way,  unfortunately (My Review)

18. OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!)
* OTP = one true pairing

Emi & Shiro from the Red Winter Trilogy By Annette Marie (My Review)

19. Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year

The relationship Adam has with his pack from the Mercy Thompson Series By Patrica Briggs was a breath of fresh air.

20. Favorite Book You Read in 2017 From An Author You’ve Read Previously

Crossbreed Series By Dannika Dark (My Review) teehee...

22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2017?

André from the Uncompromising Series By Sybil Bartel (My Review)

23. Best 2017 debut you read?

Mistaken Identity By M. C. Jackson (My Review)

24. Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year?

Red Winter By Annette Marie (My Review)

25. Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read?

Every book ends on a cliffhanger.

29. Most Unique Book You Read In 2017?

None come to mind :)

I don't remember any books making me angry this year. Maybe my brain is trying to protect me by blocking it out, the world will never know!

Getting over reading slumps was/is the biggest challenge this year. Everything is ending in DNF's ...

7. Most Popular Post This Year On Your Blog (whether it be by comments or views)?

By Comments: I switched my blog comments from Google+ to a general one and I lost EVERY. SINGLE. COMMENT. So that was great...

6. A 2017 Release You’ve Already Read & Recommend To Everyone:

ARC's have taken a back seat in the last few years so I don't have any to recommend :/

What book let you down this year?
