Audio Book Review: Grace and Glory By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Grace and Glory
(The Harbinger #3)
By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Narrator: Lauren Fortgang
Length: 14 hours and 28 minutes

Danger, betrayal, and enticing forbidden love clash in book three of #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Harbinger trilogy!

When Angels Fall

Trinity Marrow has lost the battle and her beloved Protector. Even with both demons and Wardens on her side, Trin may not win the war against the Harbinger.

Bringing Lucifer back to the world to fight the Harbinger is probably a really, really bad idea, but they’re out of options—and the world’s ultimate fallen angel is the only being powerful enough to impact the outcome.

As Trin and Zayne form a new and more dangerous bond and Lucifer unleashes Hell on earth, the apocalypse looms and the world teeters on the end of forever. Win or lose, one thing is certain—nothing will ever be the same.

My Review:

* Anything in RED is a spoiler.

This book kind of made me dislike the whole series. If you've been following my review for a while you'll know that I dislike anything that involves an amnesia plotline/twist. There have been exceptions in the past. This book was not one of them.

It took around 5 - 6 hours in the audiobook for the my-personal-hell plot twist to get resolved. There was just a lot of filler in those hours (or maybe I just wanted it over with so it just felt that way). I lost interest the longer it went on. When it was finally out of the way I just couldn't bring myself to immerse myself back in the story. I'm just annoyed at myself for ruining a series that I adored up until this book happened.

Zayne and Trin were great overall. I liked how Trin stood up for herself and how Zayne opened up after things resolved themselves. It was like he became a better version of himself in the best way.

The last plot twist wasn't something I saw coming. Heck, I didn't even think it had a twist to be revealed in the first place. The ending was sweet for Trin and Zayne. Though the author left enough of an opening to probably write another series with this set of characters a few years down the line. For right now I'm just done with this series though.

The Audio Book:

The narration was great! All the characters were distinguishable from each other and there were no weird background noises.
