My Ramblings: My DNF Pile Has A Mind Of Its Own

My DNF Pile Has A Mind Of Its Own

Reading slumps do not make for an organized reading schedule and an empty DNF pile of books. I've probably not finished as many books as I've read in 2017 in the second half of 2017 to here. Things are getting out of control and my guilt is just as relentless.

Reading slumps are hard to deal with especially when it's been 6+ months and it's not showing any signs of leaving. Setting time aside and obligating myself to read a few chapters each day is the only way I'm still keeping up with my reviews. I'm also lucky that I'm so far ahead in scheduled posts or this would be so much worse.

In the last few months, I've learned that procrastination is not my friend and that patience is not a virtue I can say I have. Movies and TV shows are what has been getting me through books as an "award" of having read X amount of chapters that day.

I've found a way to control my TBR list of books, but my DNF pile is uncontrollable at this point. I don't even have the slightest clue on how to try and read those books again. Little annoying details keep popping up and eventually make me second guess why I picked that specific book up in the first place.

* DNF: Did not finish

How do you control your DNF pile of books?
Is it as uncontrollable as I'm making it out to be?
Help me out in the comments below!

  1. I don't try to control my DNF pile. If I don't like what I am reading, I pick a new book. I am lucky, I have yet to fall into the dreaded reading slump (though, I was almost in a review writing slump - now I am only 1 behind). I hope you get your mojo back. There is nothing worst than not being able to find books/TV/music/anything! that you like.

    1. I'm usually of the mindset that if I don't like it for some reason I can decide to not finish it, but when every other book becomes that guilt starts to set in. Good to hear you're out of your review writing slump! I hope to join you in the slump free land one day soon! :)
